Well, we apparently have survived SHOT Show 2024. Here are the last picks of cool guns and gear that stood out while we were walking the show floor.
Aero Precision Lever Gun. Apparently, 2024 is the year of the lever-action rifle, with Smith & Wesson offering its 1854 lever-action rifle and now Aero Precision has its Lever Gun. Initially available in .30-30 Win. and .45-70 Gov’t, Aero’s take on the modern lever-action rifle has a threaded barrel, skeletonized stock, M-Lok attachment slots on the fore-end and adjustable cheekpiece height and length-of-pull. MSRP is currently not available, but is expected to be sub- $2,000.
Leupold Mark 4HD riflescope line. Five different magnification ranges. Two different main-tube diameters. Slim, trim and at a more affordable price, yet with all the tech and robust build quality for which Leupold is known? Yes, that’s the Leupold Mark 4HD riflescope line. With everything from a 1-4.5X to 8-32X magnification range, there’s a Mark 4HD scope that will fit your needs—and all models have a host of features like ZeroLock adjustments, mil or MOA reticles, precise tracking, return to zero and lens covers. MSRPs range from $999 to $1,599.
LWRCI IC-9 pistol-caliber carbine. Want to know how hot the pistol-caliber carbine is right now? The folks at LWRCI have introduced the IC-9 as its AR-15-based PCC. With what LWRCI calls chamber-ring-delayed blowback operation, the IC-9 has a 12-inch M-Lok-compatible fore-end, an enhanced fire-control group, fully ambidextrous controls, LWRCI’s Ultra Combat grip and yes, it takes Glock magazines. MSRP is $1,999.
Bond Arms Stubby 9 mm derringer. Y’know, not everything has to be 100-percent practical. Sometimes, we see something that just looks really neat and fun. While we understand that derringer-style handguns are not the best option for self-defense, that doesn’t mean they’re not interesting and cool. Bond Arms’ Stubby 9 mm derringer caught our attention with its super-thin profile, tiny size and general cool factor. While we’d recommend a more substantial pistol for one’s everyday carry, there’s no reason you can’t have a fun range toy. Oh, and it takes the same ammunition as your EDC, so you don’t have to stock a different caliber—or you could buy a .22LR barrel for plinking fun. MSRP: $297.
Magpul MOE PR stock. Okay, this was really cool. How about a super-affordable stock that works for long-range endeavors? Magpul’s new MOE PR stock fits on standard carbine buffer tube extensions and offers the same excellent polymer construction as the rest of the Magpul stock line, while offering a place for your support hand, a spot for a bag riser and the ability to add a cheekpiece (sold separately). All of this for an MSRP of $44.95—now that’s a good deal!
